We want to thank everyone who took part in the interactive discussion organized by Dialogu Nams about the importance of neighbors in different cultures. This discussion not only gave an interesting insight about the relationships people have with their neighbors in different parts of the world told by the representatives of different cultures (India, Turkey, Germany, Egypt, Tajikistan, Jordan, China and Latvia), but also this gave the participants a chance to share their thoughts and ideas on how we can improve these relationships. In this discussion, we shared our experiences and told many interesting stories, which helped to understand exactly what kind of role does neighbors and neighborhood play in lives of people in different cultures.
In the end of our discussion, we came to some really important conclusions. Neighbors are not only people, who live next to us – they can be our friends, our comrades, sometimes even our saviors and someone, who we can rely on. We also understood, that no matter where you live, no matter what is your social and ethnic status, it is important to have a connection and friendly relationships with people who live next to you, because when you will need help, they will be the ones closest to you to offer it, and the other way around
